Memorial Day in Fairview

Lewiston Cemetary

We spent some time Memorial Day at the Lewiston Cemetary. However, it was quite cold, so most of the pictures are in the car. We were there though. Dad and Mom told Courtney, Emma, Apsen, and me all the stories of those buried in Lewiston. While we were there, we ran into Holly and Garrick's family. I think that is what Emma and Aspen liked most about the cemetary. "Emma smile for the picture." She was sure trying hard, but her lips just went different ways, making a funny smile. So cute.

(Notice Dad's fashionable LSB sweatshirt with a nice Hawaii straw hat. Lovely)

Emma liked Dad's hat though. I must say it looked really cute on her.

Swingin Girls

Our lovely bright blue swing set is the place to be when at Grandma and Grandpa's (apparently, I'm not that fun). Emma and Aspen were all smiles out in the baby swings. Aren't they so cute?

The best is yet to come...

Mom and Dad's garden is coming along beautifully. Actually it's just the peas, onions, potatoes, and "really good carrotts" according to Mom. I thought mostly my brothers and sisters would like to see the progress of our garden and Mom and Dad would like to show it off. Dad's fabulous corn has not been planted yet, but pictures of that will be posted when they are.
(Our apple trees are finally blossoming after 10 years. We even moved them to the back of the garden to see if they would blossom and what do you know?? We just might have some fruit this year!)
Okay, this is mostly just weeds but there are some good peas in there somewhere. Dad's weeding it all out.

Twins and Trevor

Over the weekend, the twins came up for a quick trip and we had so much fun with them there (see Kelsie's blog for all of the fun events because I didn't get any pictures). While Rob and Kelsie went to a movie, their cousins came over to see them, because they don't really get to see them that often. Trevor got so excited that he just didn't know what to do. Smiling from ear to ear, he clasped his hands together and bounced up and down. He wanted to play with them and of course give them some of his long-time-no-see hugs. Trevor gives some of the best hugs. However, we had to remind him to be soft with the twins. He tried so hard to give them "soft" hugs, barely even touching the girls. A while later I noticed Trevor doing some what of a dance, shuffling around the girls with his arms stretched out straight careful not to touch the girls to hard. It was almost as if he was gently nudging them to a certain direction. I looked at Holly, and she said, "Oh, he's just herding them around like the cows." That was right. Each step blocked were those girls were headed, forcing them somewhere else. With his little shuffling dance, he was able to move those twins were he wanted them to go to play. What a smart kid.

Kaitlyn Marie Hall

Happy Birthday Miss Kaitlyn Marie on your 7th birthday! She got tons of stuff, that I think she was pretty excited about. Grandma however liked to make things difficult for her by wrapping one of her presents multipule times and making her remove each layer before going on to the second one (that sounds a lot like Aunt Karalee). She seemed to enjoy her day, and I sure do enjoy her!

While the Parents were away...

I chopped down a few trees in the back yard, while Dad and Mom were gone. The picture above is of our leaning pinetree that was the last to go. It sticked out like a sore thumb when the tree next to it was taken out (hence the square planter box smack dab in the middle of the yard hiding the remains). Mom has been telling Dad since then that she wanted this tree gone, however that didn't happen until they left for Seattle. Janine Quayle came over and took out the tree with her awesome chain saw because she said, "my stubborn Dad wouldn't get in the way". The Herreras watched from their yard wondering what we were doing, and being rightfully concerned that this leaning tree could fall on their house. They even offered to help, which made this whole thing possible.
After a few intense moments of wondering if it would fall on the neighbors house, the tree finally fell to the ground (not were we planned to have it fall, but no one and nothing was hurt so we were fine with it). Margaret Herrera came over after it fell and asked me if I was sure my parents were okay with me doing this while they were away. They seemed just fine with it when they got home (although it would be a bit too late if they were unhappy about it). And yes, I used the chain saw, and amazingly I did just fine...or at least that's what Janine told me.
